The Best Of Tim Allen

On Tuesday Oct 11, 8|7c on ABC, Tim Allen's new show Last Man Standing is premiering. Accordingly, it seems like a great time to go over the many hysterical contributions to entertainment he's made over the years.

  • 1. "Men Are Pigs" (1990)

This was the comedy tour that put Tim Allen on the map. Most of his routine focuses on the differences between men and women, and it's awesome.

  • 2. Home Improvement (1991-1999)

Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor is perhaps Allen's most memorable and well-known character, the patriarch of a family of four, obstinately and humorously dealing with three boys and his wife, while hosting a home improvement show.

  • 3. The Santa Clause (1994)

In this holiday comedy, Allen played Scott Calvin, who accidentally kills Santa Claus and has to become his replacement. A classic for anyone who grew up in the nineties.

  • 4. Toy Story (1995)

Okay, so the entire Toy Story series definitely counts, but this is the classic in which we all came to know Buzz Lightyear.

  • 5. Wild Hogs (2007)

Wild Hogs is about four suburban, middle-aged men embarking on a motorcycling adventure across the US.

  • 6. For Richer or Poorer (1997)

In this romp, Allen played Brad Sexton, a real estate hustler who has to pack up his and his wife's bags and hide from the IRS. Among the Amish.

  • 7. Galaxy Quest (1999)

In this scifi comedy, Allen played Jason Nesmith, the commander of a spaceship crew. Best summed up in his iconic motto, "Never give up, never surrender."

  • 8. Last Man Standing (2011)

Last Man Standing is Tim Allen's new show, which premieres on Tuesday Oct 11, 8|7c on ABC. It's channeling the same great stuff that made Home Improvement such a hit, and it's bound to end up as one of his classics.
