A Day In The Life: CCNC

    Happy April Fools

You get here early to watch the last two spots be taken by a black van

The group hogging all of the scanner time releases it the morning of...

But you see a scanner time that works...

And you tell your group you got the time

    Bob walks by with muffins...

And the question comes up, bagels or muffins?

So you've made the tough breakfast choice, and it's time for the meeting...

And anyone who shows up sick knows they sit at the far side of the table

When the meetings over you get the burst of energy from your muffin

Your subject's here! So you snap out of it and start talking about smokes per week

You start on Neuropsych, and no matter what, you're always like:

BUT when they don't want a snack...

You try not to lurk as the subject finishes up their self-report...

Because you want to ask them for a sample...

When you have 5 minutes that would be perfect for the urine sample, but the subject says they don't have to go yet

You get to the scanner and find out the subject was never checked in...

But by now, you really shouldn't be surprised

When the visit's over, you make sure to send an email thanking everyone...

And say a little prayer that the physicist will like the data

That's when you see the email from a collaborator asking you an interesting question...

And anyone in the office sees you doing this to your computer

You could deal with that, or you could gchat the other RAs for lunch...

If you get a call from another group about a problem at the scanner, there's a 99% chance they could've figured it out by reading the binder...

But it's kind of worth the walk to see the tech's rolling their eyes at the other group...

If there's a BIC meeting and someone has to miss it to meet a subject...

Because you know at the meeting, you'll spend way too much time talking about parking, HVAC, and the scanner schedule...

But at the end of the day you're just happy to be a part of your own group

Because working here is the best.
