for all the disgruntled: i read a comment about this trailer on another site in response to focusing on a european, caucasian family. this movie was made for a specific audience, that audience being mainly american. had this movie been made with the ethnicities the disaster affected, it wouldn’t do as well. so you have two things to really be angry about: that the filmmakers are making movies with payoff in mind (as they always have) and the fact that your own country and its citizens are not likely to see a movie if the stars aren’t white. maybe if you turned negative energy into backing, supporting, and spreading the word about films starring actors of other ethnicities, we’d see a change. until then, india will continue to make movies starting indian people, asian countries will continue to make films starting asian actors, and so on. this is just the reality.
