I worked for a bank call center and at the time I was a manager. A customer requested a call back because her son’s savings account had been getting service charges for over two years and she never noticed. I called back to tell her we couldn’t refund all of the fees because they were too old. She proceeded to tell me I was white trash who was obviously under qualified for my job and would amount to nothing in my life. I might as well kill myself then because it made no difference. I was 21, in college, and horribly depressed. Worst call ever. I am now 27, a high school history teacher, getting my masters degree. She still pops into my mind.

Response to 23 Little White Lies Every Teacher Has Told:
I want to be where he is! Some schools in Montana start their teachers at 22k and top out at 45k. Mine is decent at starting us at 30k and topping out around 60k (granted, that means you have a masters, 90+graduate credits, and 15 years of service…) and our benefits suck. My husband’s benefits are better at a call center than the schools.

Except we did close schools in Western Montana due to the weather. I didn’t expect it today, but we did as rural schools are still snowed in. Being safe is important, and if the highway department deems the roads to be dangerous, the schools should close.
Again, as stated many times before—this is not new. I remember doing it in High School and learning about it during my training. This article was poorly researched.
