This Librarian Decorated The Cupboard Under Her Stairs To Look Like "Harry Potter"

"What kid wouldn't want their own secret room?"

When children's librarian Courtney Bonnet moved into a new Pennsylvania home with her family, she noticed a cupboard under the staircase.

And, like any true Harry Potter fan, the mom of two immediately thought of the iconic cupboard under the stairs where Harry lived in the Dursley's house at 4 Privet Drive.

To pay homage to her favorite book series, Bonnet transformed the space into a Harry Potter-themed room.

"I first noticed it when we came to an open house last year but I wasn't crazy about the rest of the house," Bonnet told BuzzFeed.

After moving in June, Bonnet used pages from the first Harry Potter installment as wallpaper and added other decorations inspired by the wizarding world.

The project took her eight full days and nights to finish, but she'll continue to add to it as time goes on.

"I just love Harry Potter and books and reading," she explained. "I am pretty crafty and handy around the house so I figured why not? What kid wouldn't want their own secret room?"

The librarian said she used pages from books that had already been damaged for the wall paper; she didn't cut up or ruin any books that were in good condition.

"[My two boys] love the room. They play hide-and-seek and their friends love to check it out when they come over," Bonnet said.

"I want my kids to enjoy books and reading and see what an impact books can have on a person's life. This series really changed my life."

"I look forward to reading the Harry Potter series to my boys in the cupboard."
