The "Fantastic Four" Cast Perfectly Handled These Incredibly Offensive Questions

"But you're white and you're black. How does that happen?"

Marvel’s highly anticipated Fantastic Four stars Kate Mara as Sue Storm and Michael B. Jordan as her fictional brother, Johnny Storm.

They've been doing interviews and press to promote the film, and yesterday the cast had an uncomfortable encounter with the Rock 100.5 Morning Show in Atlanta.

We just interviewed the #FantasticFour cast. It got a little awkward. Listen tomorrow and find out what happened.

First the interviewer, shock jock Steven J. Rickman (aka Southside Steve), started by asking the "obvious" question, as he put it, about how Mara and Jordan's characters could possibly be related.

He seemed baffled that actors of different races could play siblings in a feature film.

Luckily, Michael B. Jordan handled the question like a champ.

Apparently this is something he's used to answering...

    ...despite its ignorance.

But things only got more awkward this week with 100.5 when Rickman only wanted to talk to Mara about her haircut.

She tried to quip back and recover from the painfully sexist questions...

...with really smart and appropriate answers, at that.

But the interviewer didn't get the hint.

    Like, at all.

The radio station originally tweeted a link to a video of their "behind the scenes interview footage," but it's since been taken down.

The interviewer and host also tweeted that they thought it was "awkward."

Well that was really really awkward lol @SouthsideSteve @RockMornings #Fantastic4

    @mrjasonbailey @RockMornings 3rd most awkward moment in my life..#yeahcmon

Rock 100.5 Morning host Jason Bailey defended Southside Steve's line of questioning in an email to BuzzFeed.

His only regrets? "They never really answered my question and we never got to take a picture with the cast."
