kristic3 10 months agoA friend I went to high school with (no record, no history, nothing) served 9 months and is on the Canadian registry for 16 years for possession of cartoon porn depicting individuals under the age of 18 (comics that were legally acquired Japanese manga). He’s a model probationee and has seen a psychiatrist weekly since his arrest, on his own dime and motivation to reassure him that he isn’t a pedophile (his psychiatrist reassures him he isn’t) Blanket punishments for a WIDE variety of crimes, with a wide variety of recidivism rates and offender risk, makes no sense whatsoever.
