well if you’ve read the books, katniss is cold and doesn’t really get emotional, so lawrence’s acting was pretty spot-on. she’s not a bad actress if you’ve seen her other films.

Along with all the other criticisms, I got caught up in the rhythm and narrative in the book… and this didn’t get captured well by screenwriter and director. Too bad as it drove me to read all 3 books at record pace. Feeling pretty ‘meh’ about next HG movie installments.

I have to agree with the man - the Gale fella looks like that one really good-looking guy that absolutely crushes my self-esteem at parties. And Jennifer Lawrence acts great with decent material.

I know it’s hard to squeeze all the nuances of the book into a two-hour movie but there is one thing they could have done: MAKE IT LONGER. Or make it in installments. I know it’s hard to believe in this day and age but some people do still have attention spans. Why don’t they make a little 15-minute intermission halfway through, and then go for another 2 hours. It could be an all-afternoon event. I’d see it.
That being said, even having read the book first, I didn’t think it was terrible. Watered down and badly cast but still enjoyable.
