Your Relationship With Your Mom In Your Teens Vs. In Your Twenties

Let's face it. You were kind of a shithead as a teenager.

    1. In your teens: Your mom's clothes are horrible and disgusting.

In your twenties: You borrow/steal whatever fits you.

    2. In your teens: You constantly fight about important things* like your curfew/outfit choice/time spent at the mall.

In your twenties: You barely fight.

    3. In your teens: You don't acknowledge them on social media and let their friend request sit there for years without a response.

In your twenties: She comments on every picture you upload and tags you in photos you aren't even in.

    4. In your teens: You would never dream of talking to your mom about relationships.

In your twenties: Her approval and advice mean everything.

    5. In your teens: You are a prisoner in your mom's house.

In your twenties: You long for the days when you had home cooking and consistently clean sheets.

    6. In your teens: You steal her alcohol and water it down like the stealthy thief you were born to be.

In your twenties: You get drunk together.

    7. In your teens: You hate every second spent in the car listening to her oldies.

In your twenties: You're thankful for those car rides because you seem really cool and alternative for knowing all the classics.

    8. In your teens: You don't understand her parenting and why she is so strict. SHE NEEDS TO LET YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE.

In your twenties: You see teens on social media and wonder where their strict parents are.

    9. In your teens: They are your one and only source of income.

In your twenties: They cut you off a long, long, time ago.

    10. In your teens: As far as your mom is concerned, you don't know what sex is:

In your twenties: Yeah... you're still not cool with talking about your sex life.
