    The first piece of evidence is the movie, "New Year's Eve," which came out in 2011.

    It was deemed "generally unfavorable," which obviously reflects how the people feel about the holiday as a whole.

    And then there's the fact that autocorrect has been known to change NYE to "bye."

    I mean... come on.
