Response to What’s Your Worst Puke Horror Story?:
Imagine puking every day for two years, yeah that happened to me. One day I got sick and it continued for a few days, we had to cancel our camping trip. I couldn’t eat that much at all, I would throw it up or feel like I would get sick. I was hoping this throwing up would stop, but it didn’t. Everyday I would wake up early in the morning sometimes 4am or 5 am or earlier, my stomach in pain and I would throw up. Of course people thought I might have been pregnant but, I wasn’t. This continued for two years where I would just be in pain and throw up in the morning, if I ate the wrong thing, ate too much, or didn’t even eat at all. I got so used to the stomach pain and puking that I would know what was coming no matter how hard I tried not to. I have puked in so many different garbage cans, at work, home, friend’s houses. I became a recluse, knowing I couldn’t go out with out my stomach hurting like it was being squeezed with a vice. Three times the stomach pain and puking got so bad that I could not stop. Every five, ten, fifteen minutes, I would throw up and nothing would help it. I was taken to the ER at three different times. My stomach would only calm down when they got pain meds pumping directly in to me, and replenish my fluids, and even then I would throw up a bit. Tests would be run, that would of course show nothing and I would be sent home to recover. After two years of almost constant stomach pain and throwing up, I lost over 100 pounds in a year alone, going from 250 all the way to 115 when I was at my scariest. Some may think this is bulimia, but it is not, I wanted to eat, but I couldn’t. Finally a doctor gave me a medication that actually helped. I was so shocked that we had finally found something that could help. The very next day after taking the new medicine, I woke up and actually wasn’t in pain and was able to sleep in and I had an appetite. While the medicine helps now, if I eat the wrong thing or eat to much too late, I will still wake up and throw up, but compared to it being every day, I’m good with it being only a few times a month, if that.
