7 Things Only British People Will Understand

Here are seven things that only British people will understand!

1. Cheese

Only British people understand what cheese is. If you go to a foreign country like Japan or Peru, they will look at the cheese all weird and be like "what is that, is that hard yoghurt?" and you'll be like "no, it's cheese".

2. Disposable Cutlery

Britain is the only country in the world that has disposable cutlery, in other countries people either have to carry around unwieldy metal cutlery or just use their hands. In some countries, like Japan, they use sticks!

3. Triangular Sandwiches

Triangular sandwiches are uniquely British and will confuse people who are not British. They will hold the sandwich in front of their face and rotate it round and round, not knowing how to begin to make inroads into the angular wonder.

4. Handshakes

The handshake was invented in Britain in the early 1920s. Originally, it was intended as a peaceful gesture to demonstrate that neither party was holding a sword. It didn't really work, because you could be holding a sword in your other hand, but it caught on nonetheless and has been popular ever since.

5. Cows

Cows are native to the UK mainland and have never emigrated because they are unable to utilise aeroplanes or rail transport. They are often found in fields and are worshiped in parts of Cornwall and Battersea.

6. Staplers

When a British person has two or more pieces of paper they want to keep together, they often use a stapler, which is like a rubbish gun. In other countries they use things like glue or rivets or just their hands.

7. Fair play

Possibly the most uniquely British thing of all, fair play was invented in the 1600s and everything Britain has ever done since then has been totally fair with no cheating. Foreigners, who cheat as a matter of course, are often momentarily envious of our fair play as they do better than us at things.
