2.The shapes in the images are only about the size of a thumbnail.
3.Fabian Oefner, the artist who created them, calls them "peculiar looking structures".
4.Ferrofluid is as thick and sticky as motor oil. Under a magnetic field its particles rearrange themselves, forming the channels you can see in these images.
5.So the watercolours separate from the ferrofluid and fill the spaces in between.
