The Man Behind All Your Favorite Pop Songs Just Won His First Grammy

After nearly two decades of hits, Max Martin finally gets his due from the Recording Academy.

You might not know the name Max Martin but you definitely know his music.

From the Backstreet Boys' "Quit Playing Games (with My Heart)" to Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," the songwriter-producer has had a hand in some of the biggest pop hits of the last twenty years.

The elusive Swedish hitmaker has sold more than 100 million singles but has never won a Grammy until tonight.

Martin won the award for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical for his work on “Bang Bang,” “Break Free,” “Dark Horse,” “Problem,” “Shake It Off,” and “Unconditionally.”

He's still up for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his work on Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” so his big night could get even bigger.

Frequent collaborator Taylor Swift was so excited by the win she took a break from the red carpet to tweet her congratulations.

@TheGRAMMYs @MaxMartin00 HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HANDLE THIS I CANT WALK THE RED CARPET SPAZZING OUT LIKE THIS. Producer of the YEAR, MAX

Congratulations Max! You've been helping us party like it's 1989 since 1996.
