Out of nowhere this afternoon Ellie Goulding released a cover of Hozier's Grammy-nominated hit "Take Me To Church."
The two singers obviously share a mutual friend in Taylor Swift and they played a Guinness Amplify show together last September, but there seems to be no reason for this surprise release other than Ellie's a fan of the Irish troubadour's soulful songwriting.
Instead of trying to recreate the original's bluesy sound, the electro-pop singer added some synths and made the song her own.
