There are a few aspects of the 80's I seriously miss—mostly music. Bands like Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Men Without Hats, B-52's, INXS, and Bangles and solo artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Cyndi Lauper were brilliant. Three minutes of insanely catchy music was generally the holy grail, but even the more serious rock bands (R.E.M., Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, U2, The Police, Queen, etc) were putting out unforgettable music that lacked the introspective navel-gazing and self-indulgent moaning that marred practically all of grunge and successor bands like Staind and Papa Roach. Thanks for the memories and a cool song, Aqua. Now back to my Flogging Molly/Pogues/Dropkick Murphys iTunes playlist jam.
