Two Baby Walruses Find New Homes

Two little tusky orphaned pinnipeds, Mitik and Pakak, from Alaska have found homes in New York Aquarium in Brooklyn and the Indianapolis zoo. Someone get these two some saxophones, stat.

Mitik is headed to the New York Aquarium in Coney Island. They were both rescued off Barrow, AK this summer, and have been being cared for at the Alaska Sea Life Center in Seward, AK. Mitik’s name was suggested by the daughter of one of his rescuers.

“Pakak” means “one that gets into everything” in Inupia. Pakak will be going to the Indianapolis Zoo soon.
