When I was 10 my family went to Myrtle Beach and stayed in this condo that had this huge L-shaped wall where the tide would come in and crash against. One day before lunch, my older sister and I were playing when the tide was. I was a skinny little thing and slipped and by the aforementioned wall. It was high tide and my head was underwater and every time I tried to stand up, the tide would recede and suck me back under. It was actually getting to the point where black fuzzies were coming in on the side of my eyes and everything was going gray and staticky when my sister grabs me by my head, yanks me out of the water, and yells “What are you doing, we’re gonna be late for lunch!”. She had no idea she pretty much saved me from something pretty bad until years after that. Still have a hard time with waves to this day.
