DIY with those old belts collecting dust in your closet!

It is finally started to feel like Spring here in New York City! Finally our friend Mr. Sunshine is deciding to pay some visits here and I cannot be more excited. I'm not used to getting excited with the changes in climate since in California it is summer… all the time. With the temperature slowly but surely rising and the layers of clothing slowly starting to fade away my passion for crafting is beginning to appear again.

Maybe it is the classic yearly Spring cleaning that got me going but now that I am on my craft game I cannot stop! The other day I was finally organizing my room that I have been putting off because well, when I get home I just wanted to cuddle up, and found myself needing some more organizational equipment.

I was in my zone though I knew that if I would leave my cleaning station it would be left half way done for the next week or so. I decided to improvise and found some old belts that I had laying around and made some awesome new additions to my room (thank you Pinterest).

At first, I was so excited and wanted to just brag about my cool new projects I have done but then I decided to be nice and share the amazing do-it-yourself projects that helped me, not only with my creative itch but also with my much needed Spring cleaning!

We have all been in a situation where there is just not enough counter space. Whether it is in your room or kitchen, not everything can fit on the surface. Instead of buying a boring shelf, be a little more creative! All you need are two shelves and a couple belts and your walls are filled with much more character. Not to mention your tables aren't cluttered anymore!

I don't know about you but I am a total book worm. As a Literature Major, I have always loved collecting my favorite novels but once I moved to New York I realized my apartment couldn't fit a bookshelf. Finally I found this amazing project where you can use belts to hang a few of your favorite books. I like this idea more than the ordinary bookshelf because its super modern and different. It is always a conversation starter when people come over!

Okay, so maybe this doesn't help necessarily with organization but it's just so darn cute! Grab a few of you and your friends old belts and cut them up and glue them together in order to make the cutest centerpiece for the kitchen table! I love this look because it brings something unique to the table. I am a simple girl, I love all white everything when it comes to linens so this is the perfect combination to spice up a white tablecloth!

Lastly, we have the fireplace. The firewood always makes a mess in the living room, am I right? What a pain. But look no farther, check out this super easy way to organize the logs. Simply belt the wood logs on both sides and you are left with an awesome display.

I hope these ideas helped you realize how you can put your old belts to a good use! From organization to just decoration, leather décor can really make a room stand out. Hope you have an amazing beginning of Spring!
