    The Disaster In South Dakota No One Is Talking About

    On the first weekend of October, a freak blizzard hit South Dakota and dropped over four feet of snow. The storm caught ranchers and their livestock by surprise, and entire herds were wiped out, along with the ranchers' livelihoods. The link below contains a fundraising page to help those in need.

    The winter storm hit early. Cattle normally have a thick winter coats to protect them from the cold, but it was too early for their coats. Rain, snow, and forceful winds left the cattle to die in the fields. The account and pictures from the Diary Carrie blog is truly heartbreaking.
