If the term “marriage” is defined in the bible, then why is it a legal term?
It we just changed the term “marriage”(religious) to “civil union”(legal/politically correct) for ALL marriages in the eyes of our government, the debate would pretty much be over.

Ironic that he would hold up a modern $20 and then with a straight face imply that stuff like the legal definition of marriage should stay the same forever because change is bad. Remember when the new $20s were first introduced, and everyone was all “OMG I WILL NEVER GET USED TO THIS”, but now that bill looks perfectly normal? Yeah, that’s pretty much how it’s going to be with gay marriage.

I understand why gay people are fighting for the right to marry, but take it from someone who has walked that road, gay people - you’re not missing out on anything. Secure your rights, but don’t feel like you have to exercise them. The relationships you have now are so much better.  As for this dumb old fart, take your $20 and buy a history book, because you don’t know shit about why marriage was invented.

This might be off topic but he said that the bible is “gods words” however between now and since earth is made, how many times people copy the bible from the vary first to today bible?  Billions however think of every copy, a peace of a bible is changed,removed or added to every latest version because someone had an idea that it’s wrong or right.  I not saying that the bible is wrong but diluted during the years.

Why does he care if two dudes get married?

Marriage has been around a lot longer than monotheism. Todays “romantic” marriage is actually the counterfeit version. It comes from Victorian era ideals expressed in popular art and literature, mostly among the rich, royal and affluent of the time (the workers of the industrial revolution couldn’t afford the luxury of romanticism).  For thousands of years marriage has been a contract between one man, one woman, her father, two chickens, four goats and 3 blankets.
