I think it's much worse than Song of the South actually. Blaxploitation has it's place,certainly. it's useful to compare this movie to coonskin or john waters' early work. i'm pretty sure that there's a difference between outdated representations or their reiteration in order to challenge them but this kind of intend-to-offend approach was tired in the 70s. and while it bares being noted that black people are perfectly capable of reproducing racist representations, the entire cast and the rest of the production crew is white. i wonder who the audience is?
