Eli, I still <3 you…
This doesn’t sound middle class at all…
#23. That strawberry is unnaturally huge…
12, 13, and 14 are my favorites!
This is one of the best quizzes I’ve ever taken… thanks for the wonderful flashbacks :-)
I’ve been waiting for a post about GW and was tempted to make one myself… but let’s do some slight adjusting though. First of all, where the heck is Manoush?!? Half smoke with GW sauce please! Did you know there was a time when the CVS didn’t exist, it was a Tower Records? And that at one point in time there was a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks… down the street from another Starbucks, which was a few blocks away from another Starbucks? Most of that is still true, although we are sans one Starbucks that used to reside in J Street. Yes, GW has a large Jewish population… and a large Catholic population. St. Stephen’s even has special masses in the evenings designed for local students. Maybe it seems like there are more Jewish people at GW because of fraternities and sororities (both official and unofficial) that are traditionally Jewish. I would LOVE to tell you the story about why our unofficial mascot is a hippo. Have you heard of a man named Stephen Joel Trachtenberg? And yes, he is in fact the namesake of a graduate school - Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration. So fun story, this one time when he was vacationing with his wife (I believe it was Nantucket or the Cape or some other preppy northeast location) he went window shopping without his wife. He visited this one store of antiques and started to chat with the owner… and there may or may (aka there definitely was) delicious adult libations involved. Needless to say he ended up buying a giant hippo statue and had it delivered to his home back in DC. He forgot about said purchase until the hippo arrived at his doorstop, to which Mrs. Trachtenberg promptly refused to allow the hippo in the house and requested it be donated to the university. Add a cute (and totally incorrect) backstory to a plaque, and the unofficial university mascot is born! Moving on… school spirit. Yeah, I don’t really have an argument on that one. There is most certainly a lot of school pride. But I assure you, if you attended GW during the golden age of our men’s basketball team (a la Pops the King Whale Killer and Mike Hall) you most certainly would have shown some school pride. True story, I road tripped to see them compete in the NCAA Tournament… and then lose in the second round to Duke and JJ Redick. And lest we not forget some major campus events, like the annual running of the campaign posters for Student Association elections! That is a morning best spent inside your dorms and away from Marvin. Alright, and what’s this nonsense about not knowing what a Colonial is?!? Have you ever heard of the American Revolution? Do you KNOW who George Washington is? I rest my case. Last thing, I PROMISE… don’t forget about all the Presidential motorcades that wake you up in the wee hours of the morning. Back in my day, we were woken up by Cheney and his trips to the GW Hospital on the regular.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. No one has any right whatsoever to deem someone else’s sexuality as wrong. You can’t help who you love… bonus, anyone who quotes the bible, fun fact - god made man in his image, and OMGz that image created some people who prefer same sex partners! What is going on in Russia is sad and boycotting a vodka is going to address this. In fact, there are Russians who support the LGTBQ movement… don’t assign the blame on all Russians when not all Russians are committing heinous acts like this. Also, someone indicated that this was about pedophiles… if that’s the case, there is a better LEGAL way to address pedophiles. Fighting something wrong and shameful like that with something else wrong and shameful is not the right move.
Popples… always and forever!
No one says “Ya feels me”
Sounds about right
So true! Except #7, so false! Jordan almonds are delicious!!!
Likewise… I’m jealous of Pete’s friends right now.
Ahhh TINY YODA!!!! SO CUTE!
I’ve read Scott McCloud’s book and it is fantastic! I read it as part of a logic course in college just before I read the graphic novel Maus for a different class - wonderful coincidence! Also, anything by Bill Bryson is worth reading!!
Is anyone going to point out the fact that technically Ryan didn’t win the hand where he got to pour a second pitcher on Jimmy? He was supposed to put down three cards and he only put down two… making his third winning card a King, except that it would’ve been a nine if he did it correctly. Just saying.
I wrote this post the day before I went to the dentist for the first time in over 4 years… my visit was eye opening, but my dentist is awesome! And any kind of sedation during procedures is welcome!!
Now I know what Kristen Bell feels like! Who wants to get me a sloth?!?
Check out those ice cream pants!!!!
So that’s lots of powder on my face… not sure why. Also, don’t judge my fashion.
