The 1991 film Point Break is an utter, unmitigated masterpiece*.
The film stars Patrick Swayze as Bodhi, a surfing criminal mastermind, and Keanu Reeves as Johnny Utah, the FBI agent charged with infiltrating Bodhi's gang.
Gary Busey plays Johnny Utah's irrepressibly wacky partner.
And there's tons of surfing.
There are also cameos from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
And a lot of ~great acting~ from Keanu Reeves.
It's basically one of the GREATEST MOVIES EVER MADE, end of story.
So it was only a matter of time before someone would try to recreate the glory. And now, we have a remake and here's the first trailer.

This time, instead of surfers, they're "extreme sports athletes." But it's basically the same movie.
The new version stars Luke Bracey as Utah and Édgar Ramírez as Bodhi and it takes itself pretttttty seriously.
Predictably, fans of the original are not too happy about it.
Dear Hollywood,you can't duplicate the magic of Swayze, the awkwardness of Keanu and the comedic craziness of Busey. Point Break was perfect

Things I'd rather watch than a Point Break remake: 1) a well constructed barrel fire, 2) dogs swimming, 3) old relatives trying to juggle.
I believe that like me, the people behind the remake of Point Break are dumb as hell.
At no point in the Point Break trailer does anyone dropkick a dog or order two meatball sandwiches. I think they've kinda missed the point.
Go slam your Rockstar Energy Drinks, POINT BREAK remake. I'll be at home, doing hard drugs w/ the original. THE WAY LIFE IS SUPPOSED TO BE.
