In the wake of the Paris terror attacks, people are using a Facebook tool to help users find their friends and loved ones.
The page allows people living or visiting Paris to let their friends and family know they're OK.
You can search for friends who have already marked themselves "safe" and for those who have yet to check in on Facebook.
The company originally launched the Safety Check feature back in October 2014; its first major deployment was in April, after the Nepal earthquake. This is the first time it has been used in a nonnatural disaster.
"We are shocked and saddened by the events unfolding in Paris," a Facebook spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. "Communication is critical in these moments both for people there and for their friends and families anxious for news. People turn to Facebook to check on loved ones and get updates, which is why we created Safety Check and why we have activated it today for people in Paris."

Mark Zuckerberg released a statement following criticism over when to activate the Safety Check feature, saying that people " rightfully asked why we turned on Safety Check for Paris but not for bombings in Beirut and other places." Zuckerberg noted that moving forward the feature will be activated for more human disasters.
