Business owner Zachary Osher captured the bizarre scene Wednesday morning. He sent the footage in to the Staten Island Advance and SILive.com:
“I was sitting at my desk at about 9:20 when I saw a zebra and pony run back and forth across the street, almost getting hit by a car … About 30 seconds later, I saw two men in dark black suits carrying lassoes running across the street … I have no idea how it got there. … I figured [the men with lassoes] knew what to do.”
It’s still unclear where the animals came from. The Staten Island Zoo is about five miles away from Osher’s business.
