An Air Force spokeswoman told Stars and Stripes that Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinski has been "removed from his position" after being arrested over the weekend on suspicion of assaulting a woman in a parking lot.
Krusinski, who's served in Afghanistan and Iraq, was formerly a chief in the Air Force's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response unit.

On May 5 at 12:35 am, a drunken male subject approached a female victim in a parking lot and grabbed her breasts and buttocks. The victim fought the suspect off as he attempted to touch her again and alerted police. Jeffrey Krusinski, 41, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with sexual battery. He was held on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
"Police arrived on scene a short time after the victim reported the incident," Arlington Police Department Public Information Officer Dustin Sternbeck told WIRED's Danger Room. "He did not resist arrest."
Danger Room also spoke to Nancy Parrish, who heads up Protect Our Defenders, an advocacy organization for rape and sexual assault survivors in the military:
"If these allegations are true, this is one more example on a long list of how fundamentally broken the military justice system and culture are ... The idea that the head of the Air Force's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office could be arrested for sexual assault indicates the depth of the problem. It's outrageous."
