Meet The Most Beloved Police Officer In New York City
Larry DePrimo, the cop who bought a homeless man shoes and won the Internet’s heart, speaks out.
Lawrence “Larry” DePrimo, 25, reportedly joined the department in 2010. He lives with his parents on Long Island.
He says that he keeps the receipt for the $100 Skechers shoes — discounted to $75 by the Skechers manager — in his vest “to remind me that sometimes people have it worse.”
NYPD posted a photo of DePrimo on its Facebook Thursday. By Friday, it had about 47,500 likes and 8,200 shares.

Lillithdv8 5 months agoI don’t care if it was kismet or a PR stunt. I want to take with me story about a compasionate human who helped someone in dire need. The photo shows descency and kindness, it’s commendable whatever his job. And here’s a crazy idea, why not leave our cynicism for a minute and try to do something similar? Some day at least?

The homeless man is sitting right outside of a shoe store. He probably asked him his size, then went in and bought them.
