Kevin Clash Resigns As Voice Of Elmo
Following allegations of sexual relations with underage boys, the longtime Elmo actor has left Sesame Street. The first allegations were later recanted, but the scandal has become too much of a distraction, Sesame Workshop said in a statement. TMZ reported Tuesday that Clash is facing a lawsuit from a second man who apparently met the actor through a gay phone chat line when he was 15.

Lisa H. 5 months agoOkay so first we had a guy who said he had sex with Kevin when he was 16, which is at or above the legal age of consent in almost any country in the world so why do we give a shit? Now we have a guy saying he met him through a chat line when he was 15. Those chat lines are supposed to be for 18 and up so, if this is true, one would assume anyone you’re talking to would also be of legal age. So what we’ve learned here is Kevin Clash likes young men. Well HOLY SHIT! Let’s make him quit his job and ruin his life and stake him and burn him for that! What the fuck is wrong with people!

Arica H. 6 months agoHe wasn’t just the “voice” - he was everything! He was the puppeteer - the movements, the acting, the choice of words, everything was Kevin. It will be difficult to replace Elmo’s entirety. He basically created the character. In the wake of all of this, despite how devastating it is to lose him, I hope CTW and Sesame Workshop might give Big Bird some more time - we hardly see Big Bird anymore, it’s shocking. Caroll Spinney is in his 70s and has been playing Big Bird from the start and he’s still doing it. I wish they’d give him more time while we still have him! Kevin has a documentary on netflix for free and I encourage everyone to watch it. Caroll’s documentary is in the works! Please support it! Buzzfeed, please share!

erinp12 6 months agoMy kid was LOVING the new Elmo The Musical addition to the new episodes (and so was I). I hope they find a replacement voice and puppeteer for the little guy, because he brings a lot of joy to the kiddos. People can be cynical asses all they want, but toddlers aren’t that jaded. Elmo makes them happy.
