Culture Buzz British bank HSBC partners with Wimbledon to produce massive grass art portraits. The portraits are essentially grass photographs. The two artists commissioned for the project, Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey, who are known for similar work, snapped photographs of Wimbledon notables and projected the black and white negatives onto seedling grass in a dark room. The process went on for 12 hours a day for over a week before the competition. Given the differences in light exposure in the grass’s formative stages, the photographs “develop” out of the grass as it grows. Neat!
