  • People are idiots. The first thing I thought when I read this was “That sounds like it'd taste pretty good”, not “How dare they!” If only people put half the effort into real problems then causing a stink about stuff like this.

  • JP—fortune cookies are not Chinese. They are Chinese-American. They do not exist in China. The reference, therefore, is that Lin is Chinese-American—as in, something Chinese made in America. At the same time, I'm sure that they didn't want to appear insensitive WHICH IS WHY IT DOES NOT EXIST IN THE ICE CREAM NOW.

  • Fortune cookies are Asian? Have any of you ever even been to Asia? Fortunes cookies are about as Asian as Taco Bell is Mexican or Pizza Hut is Italian, that is, not at all.

  • fortune cookies are Asian. Jeremy Lin is Asian. how is that racist? it's harmless, and probably tasted good. stop being so sensitive. and to those that say “if he wasn't Asian, you wouldn't be hearing about him,” HE BROKE SEVERAL ROOKIE RECORDS. if anyone/any race breaks notable records like he has, they will get bigtime publicity. he's Asian. I'm white. youre something. facts. not racism.

  • Who gives a fuck? How is it even a concern? Ohhh noooo that ice cream will teach my kids racism! No, there's nothing wrong with it. Calm down and move on.

  • Oh my f*cking God. Isn't there any lower limit to what you people will consider “racist”?

  • Totally racist. Because the only reason that Ben and Jerry's added fortune cookies is because Lin is Asian, but in reality the whole Lin phenomenon is based partially because of Lin ethnicity. Most of it is because he plays for the Knicks. If he was on the Pacers, who have a better record and team than the Knicks do, or if he was white/black then we would not hear about him nearly to this extent. If anyone here watches SC, then you know that this Linsanity is WAY overhyped.

  • That's ridiculous. Without the cookies this has no reason to exist. Feh.

  • Considering Fortune Cookies are an American invention and have no link to Chinese culture at all? Not racist.

  • If it had bits of dog or Peking duck in it THEN it is racist. Fortune cookie pieces make it offensive? Those haters “disgrace famiry”.

  • so they make a obvious choice and did anyone ask Lin if he was offended ? But its ok that obama just came out with African Americans for obama campaign and playing a race card? but we are scared of icecream

  • There is no compelling reason for the news or companies to link Jeremy Lin with fortune cookies. So if you can't see that this is racist, it's because these kinds of associations have been normalized. It is dehumanizing to compare people to chopsticks, fortune-cookies and kung fu. It is important for people to stand up to ignorance and, no, it is not just people overreacting and be too “politically correct”.
