I’m grateful to the person who takes care of Michael and taught him sign language. Without his (and other apes’) ability to communicate with us so literally, there wouldn’t be nearly as much proof of ape intelligence, genuine emotion and clear memory. Poor Michael.

Well, yes this is sad. Apes are intelligent animals, the video shows that they are smart, loving and capable of some language. And of course we shouldn’t eat them. However, all animals are different, this is hardly a reason to not eat any animals. We have to recognize that all creatures don’t love. And also that most people don’t want to eat bushmeat. they are starving and will eat what they can (bush meat means whatever meat we find in the bush). So tragic, yes in many ways. But the issue is complex. And apes are omnivores.

Apes are people and their deatg should be tragic to any primate. Carnivores should not ear other carnivores. it’s Luke cannibalism. Except fish.

Animals are so smart, I feel so sad for people who consume animal products. You say this is sad, but how about all the cows and chickens that are treated so inhumanely?

We need a”Sad”, or maybe “Tragic” button. Maybe both.
