Huntsman Staffer Is “Sick And Sad” Over The State Of The GOP

Her post is pretty eloquent though some of Huntsman’s statements would certainly raise questions under what she’s saying. Though I suppose she may be offended by those as well.

I know, right? Now tell your friends!

Huntsman Staffer Is "Sick And Sad" Over The State Of The GOP

Transcript: “For years I have tried to prove that the GOP isn’t the Party of elitist, stereotypical people that lack compassion,” Reidy wrote on her Facebook account Tuesday. “When did creativity and growth become secondary to hate? Hearing the debate crowds go crazy over things like executions and the uninsured dying makes me sick and sad for my Party that I devote my time and efforts.”

Doesn’t actually matter who you vote for, the media conglomerates select the most corporate friendly “candidates” and either shut out or destroy the rest (Dean Scream). Then said candidates raise hundreds of millions from corporate donors, shill for the plebs who dutifully toss a few coins their way, and then said “candidates” are voted for using corporately created and controlled “voting” machines that are easily hacked/tampered with, have a history of misreporting “votes” and leave absolutely no papertrail to confirm any errors. Some “democracy”.

Rational conservatives are a breath of fresh air anymore. Huntsman unfortunately doesn’t stand a chance in the Tea Party sea, but he’s the only one who isn’t pulling the party so far to the right. The modern Tea Party makes George Bush look decidedly moderate.

The “sick and sad” phrase comes from the “speech” (see wikipedia for explanation) of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce at his surrender after the Trail of Tears.
“Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever.”
While apocryphal, the speech still seems inappropriate to borrow from in this context.

Most of these d-bags (including Ailes and Rove) were in college when Nixon resigned. Nixon was their generation’s Clinton or Obama and Watergate was the Young Republicans 9/11: Never Forget. They decided that power and control was the only thing that mattered and so anything done to obtain or maintain power was not only acceptable but necessary. Fear mongering, race baiting, vanity, decadence, nationalism, greed, hatred: poor, minorities, non-christians, communists, etc. It was all validated and encouraged because “_____” wanted to destroy us. They have gone so far down that road that no one could possibly have the cachet to pull them back to sanity. This group of candidates is a joke. They aren’t running for president, they are interviewing for a job as merely the spokesman for this catastrophe called the GOP. Whoever delivers the message most convincingly gets the campaign funds.  Will we fall for it?

Remember when right-wingers were caught on film happily cheering and celebrating America losing the bid to host the Olympics ??? That’s when I realized their douchiness had reached evil levels… I mean, I knew the stars of the GOP elephant were turned upside in 2000, but reveling the defeat of your own country for not hosting the greatest athletic event in world is just cold blooded…

    • Logging off Facebook and burying her head in the sand won’t change the party. She needs to actually do something.

Huntsman is a Democrat in disguise that’s why he’s polling at about 1% or whatever. Maybe she needs to move further left to the Democrats and enjoy that hypocrisy.

Also, since when was the GOP considered stereotypically elitist? I thought that label was squarely set on the democrats…although that kind of feeds into her comment about them being haters….

You know though, one thing I was ill say is Huntsman has said some surprisingly apt things, considering I felt like everyone aside from Romney up there is batshit crazy (with Ron Paul likely being the only “cool” kind of crazy). You know, like admitting he believes in evolution and that it’s kind of silly not to. Yes, the bar is pretty low for the GOP for that to genuinely impress me, but still, I at least give him props for that.
