Miriambiguity 5 months agoI’m a lifelong Red Sox fan and I suppose I should hate Derek Jeter but who cares? It’s the offseason and lots of guys gain weight this time of year. Then they get back into shape after Christmas. Besides, the jokes aren’t even funny. I mean, if you can’t make bacon funny, you have failed miserably.

Karazy Feed 5 months agoThis is less of a meme and more of a public bashing. Dude’s not Fat, not even a little bit. Plus i got about halfway through and noticed that none of those were funny! Poor Show buzzfeed! Poor show. and this is coming from a Phillies fan.

plemur 5 months agoOh, crap! He lost the precise muscle definition of an athlete in his twenties! This is all sorts of wrong—He’s still thin, bashing people for weight isn’t okay, and if this were a woman people would be screaming bloody murder (and probably rightly so). And as a Red Sox fan, I know why he gets paid $17 mill a year. He is a great athlete.

zakr 5 months agoI’m not very impressed with way this was handled. Usually, articles on BuzzFeed give a more critical analysis of memes that incorporate something harmful like fat shaming instead of just contributing to it. For first time readers this is a bad example of what usually sets BF apart from other news a social media sites.
