Oh, THAT Ben Smith from Politico. OK… I’m glad you’re pleased with your hire, Buzzfeed, but you can STFU about it now. If he does good work then we will be pleased. If he does not, then we will not. We give not the least damn whether you poached him from the finest media conglomerations or out of your brother-in-law’s basement.

Politics? Yawn. I come to this site to escape the serious news media.

I enjoy the humor of the website. i am not a political person, but i know the political humor leans left. im worried that buzzfeed will become a left-wing media outlet which would single me out and begin to disinterest me because i lean to the right.  when change comes, im usually not scared of it and just accept it (ie fb updates). However i dont think buzzfeed should go political, and if you do just make it a news/politics section/sticker. That way the user knows and interacts, and easily transitions to buzzfeed new format.

I didn’t think original content was the point of Buzzfeed. It will just become another outlet trying to dictate trend and info. I don’t think I’m going to like the new Buzzfeed :(

“BuzzFeed will change A LOT”?? WTF, f that, it’s already good as it is. R.I.P Buzzfeed… go make a new website with more politics, why change this one?

They realized to be a serious company, they have to do serious content or else it’s just a fun site you can’t go IPO with or get bought. Plus, advertising wouldn’t be too high without real content. People are here to waste time and have a few laughs. Changing the motto of the site would alienate a lot of current visitors. But I bet that’s the risk they’re willing to take to grow.
