My mom got a letter and a check from the White House during President Ford's term and nobody wrote in the White House a letter. More than likely it's standard protocol for a president to do personal things. I hope they appreciate that kind of gesture as much as my mom did.

I couldnt have said it better erich14. At first I was confused bc on the Android you read comments last to first. Look people are always going to hate Obama no matter what he does. Whether they are racist, uneducated, overly biased or just plain ignorant. There lives suck and for some reason they want your life to be as bad as theirs. Some people just want to keep the status quo bc that's what they are use to, but its up to us to change it. It our duty to make sure, that these magoo's don't ever run our country again! It's our duty to drown them out so ignorance can never be bliss! It's our duty to make sure that those who “just want to see the world burn” don't get their opprotunity to light the match! We are the people and we will go after any injustices that are perpetrated against us by terrorists or barron that lack the pride to be American bc that means will have a smaller bottum line. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired and WE WILL CHANGE THE STATUS QUO.

Republicans are beyond reason, persuasion, evidence, demonstration, and possibly pity. But they have won me over on the Second Amendment—there's clearly no way I can trust those @#$%ers with all the guns.

Obama hasn't been the President I'd hoped he'd be—to be honest, I've been terribly disappointed by much of what he's done (and much of what he has not done). But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a dark-humored chuckle watching moronic hard-right twits try to find a way to turn a compassionate charitable gesture into something that's meaningless or even evil.  I submit that the real problem with our country can be seen right here: Senseless, selfish, stooopid clowns who slavishly treat party affiliation like membership in a street gang—win at any cost, never say anything good about the other gang, and kill as many as you can along the way. Threaten and try to intimidate anyone who gives your gang any problems. See a member of your rival gang doing something nice or good? Call 'em a pussy, claim they're just consolidating control over the 'hood, or point out how much more they could have done. Don't just try to insure that they never score any points with anyone—try to damage them with it. Destroy them completely if you can; nothing like a scorched-earth win. Who gives a fuck what kind of collateral damage you rack up. The 'hood's already a hell-hole, right? The rest of us would be much better off if everyone who thought this way was locked in a mental ward, where they belong.

Lots of people give to charity and no one makes a huge deal out of it… I've witnessed people pay for stranger's meals for no reason other than they felt like it and walk out the door before anyone could thank them.. I've read countless stories of people pulling into walmarts and giving money to strangers.. What about the people who give away 20 dollar bills at Christmas time? These things happen all the time, Obama is no better than any of these other UNsung heros.. Get over your president crush already, you guys are starting to look desperate…

If a Republican prez fucks up a war against a tiny country, losing countless lives and dollars in the process, they throw a party on the flight deck of a aircraft carrier and declare mission accomplished. If a Democrat prez captures Osama Bin Laden, the Republicans shrug their shoulders and say the Prez had nothing to do with it. If a Democrat prez captures Ghadaffi, they give credit to the French and the British instead of US troops and the US president. If a Democrat prez helps out fellow citizens with charitable donations, Republicans call it “buying votes.” You people (I use that term loosely) are gutter slime with values less rigid than a wet noodle. You ARE what is wrong with this country, no doubt about it.

And after he wrote the check he started a few more wars and sent a drone strike to kill some people. Then several truckloads of Wall Street money arrived to buy his re-election.

Don't you worry, Mr. Moore. They already have vilified him for it. They call it “buying votes.” I saw it somewhere on Fark Politics.
