Are We Sure This Guy Is An Expert?
Because I’m pretty sure condoms aren’t what’s killing people in Africa.

Jed Oliver a year agoDr. Edward C. Greene is a Senior Research Scientist at Harvard School of Health. Dr. Green wrote an article in the Washington Post in 2009 where he discusses the fact that there are studies that indicate the current condom dispersal strategy to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa has not been as effective as similar prevention programs in Southeast Asia and elsewhere. His concerns are twofold: He feels these studies are intentionally being covered-up or dismissed and that dismissal may prevent us from trying new AIDS prevention strategies that really work in Africa. Dr. Green also goes on to say that he is fiercely pro-condom and that everyone should have access to them. So despite whatever that rag is slinging, and despite their doubtless twisting of his words, Dr. Edward C. Green is a real doctor, he really works for Harvard, he really is severely concerned about the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa and he’s convinced through the data available that the current prevention strategy isn’t working and he’s concerned that a cover-up of those facts may dissuade us from finding a strategy that works.
