15 Beautiful Photos From NASCAR’s Road Course Race
Twice a year NASCAR breaks from their love of ovals to race on road courses. This is good for two things. Beautiful photos and video, and to prove that these drivers can turn right.

These races always suck because of the attrition. The cars aren’t made to handle a real road course. Even if they don’t spin off the track, a lot of them break down because the suspension cracks.
The road courses are tough to watch in person because the track is so spread out. At Sonoma I have found that turn two lets you see the most but if you want to see the whole race then pay extra to sit in the grand stands and watch it on their big screen or do what I do now is to stay home and watch it on my slightly smaller screen.
#3 Here driver 15 gets to the first right turn, gets confused, turns left, then left again, tight left a little more left and then goes straight.
That video makes NASCAR seem exciting. That race was the first I’d been to, and most likely the last.
