Almost as big of a deal as that one time in Anne of Green Gables where the Prime Minister visited and Mirilla went to see him and she waved some sort of English/Canadian flag (look at how well I relate to you, Canadians!). Bilodeau dedicated his win to his brother Frédéric, who has cerebral palsy. He credits Frédéric’s spirit as one of his main inspirations. So, there’s that whole nice guy thing happening as well. Yesterday Canadian Alexandre Bilodeau won a gold medal in men’s mogul skiing. This was Canada’s first home gold, and if we’ve learned anything from Bob Costas, that’s like a really big deal.
