This Intelligent Robot Surgeon Is The Face Of Your Impending And Impersonal Death

"Dr. Easy" comes online.

UPDATE: To our enormous relief, Dr. Easy appears to be a viral video stunt, related to the actually excellent short film Dr. Easy, based the opening chapter of the 2007 Matthew De Abaitua novel The Red Men.

"Dr Easy" is a "humanoid robot designed for use in GP surgeries and hospitals", according to its creators, Monad Life Science, whose company motto is, unsettlingly, "Your future is where we begin."

In this video, scientists demonstrate the "ocular tracking and object recogition" systems of "Dr Easy", including the ability to discern a Granny Smith apple and a toy tiger. The video also includes Terminator vision from the perspective of "Dr Easy", and ends before "Dr Easy" is asked to identify a carotid artery, a nerve stem, and other obvious kill zones.
