I'd like to see a 'meh' button please.

Check it out! We just added filters so you can look at All Response, just Contributions, or just Reactions. And when a single user has multiple reactions, we compress them into a single line.

you might want to tally up the loves, lols etc and put a badge with the totals somewhere instead of keeping everything together.

Please make it stop! Do you have to show everyone's reaction? I thought that was what comments were for. I like Buzzfeed because the page has a clean look, this makes it very cluttered. I don't read those quick reactions, I just have to scroll down further to read the actual comments, which I very much enjoy.

I'm inclined to add, my over-participation is beginning to take over my facebook news feed.

I'm not one to be a tattle-tale, but Peggy both liked AND disliked Ex-Masturbator T-Shirt. I'm not saying she's actively trying to sabotage your new rating system out of diabolical intent (she might just be Catholic), but you other Buzzfeed people had better keep an eye on her!

I think these are little more than emoticons for hipsters. If every comment thread on this site looks like the one for this entry (with a 10-to-1 icon-to-comment ratio), it'll make the responses on this site unbearable.  How quick before we see a greasemonkey script to hide these?

I'd be lying if I told you I was even remotely into these “reacticons.” I think it just jumbles up the screen space, makes BF look all “Blingee.”  I'm not against a counter or something (where you could click to see who WTF'd it or whatev) but this is just messy and kind of over the top, and kind of distracts from the content and conversation.

Like I said before, this feature is “CUTE”, but can you make it so the reactions are not in with the comments? Maybe just the comments and on the side a “counter” that you can open and see who said what?

I would like to see:
1) More reactions, both positive and negative
2) Reactions displayed below the actual text comments (too much scrolling)
3) A total sum of each reaction category instead of each individual reaction.  No offense to anyone (and I am pretty sure most would agree), but I don't really care which individual felt a particular reaction… information overload. Maybe you could click on an individual reaction to see who also felt that way if you wanted to drill down.

How about or similar negative responses? Otherwise, quite cool…

I think this decent. It's easy enough to ignore if you're not that into it (like me), and it seems to be easy enough to quickly understand if you are into it. Reason I'm not all that into it myself: the simple built in responses don't seem to add any useful info to the post. When someone has to type a comment, it can (but doesn't necessarily) add useful info. But like I said, it's easy enough to ignore, so I'm cool with it. Who knows… I might warm up to it eventually.

I like it. It builds on the FriendFeed approach of “liking” something a bit…the quick approval, but to a slightly more opinionated level. I think if people have comments/images/videos to share they'll still share them. This might be a good way for others who never said much to participate a bit more.

This is stage one. We have a few interesting twists on the way. Stay tuned.
