  • Unfortunately, I think I just read on Jenny's Blog that she passed away yesterday.

  • My father was paralyzed from the neck down after an infection. The doctors could never determine what the infection was but they narrowed it down to bacterial. They don't know how he got it and couldn't do anything to get rid of it. Days before he was completely healthy and had back pain that increasingly became worse and worse until he was rushed to the hospital when he slipped into a coma. It's pretty frustrating not knowing what the hell happened..he died almost a year later.

  • My sister had GBS (GUILLAIN BARRE SYNDROME) in 2005, which many doctors misdiagnosed before she was correctly diagnosed!

  • When I was in high school, two students in my school became suddenly paralyzed from Lyme disease - although not completely. One was paralyzed down one side of his body and the other lost the use of her legs. In both cases, it was temporary - one a few weeks and the other a couple months.

  • what about a spinal Ependymoma. It is usually a brain tumor but can be found in the spine. My niece had one and we were told that it wouldnt have been too long before she could have become paralyzed by the tumor. Get an MRI of her back to make sure!!

  • She should look into Transverse Myelitis, if she hasn't already. I know someone who became suddenly paralyzed when this attacked his spinal cord/nervous system, and he's made a virtually miraculous recovery.
