This is a perfect example of the state of media now, and what it will be in the next few years: the artist has taken something from the collective consciousness, reimagined it using new technology, spread it using the internet, and it has touched something personal for you (Jonah). That’s beautiful, and anyone who thinks it’s disrespectul, or that it’s not art: enjoy your newspapers.

I did, and I’m convinced that I’m a new believer in our society’s acceptance of people, it’s progression towards a more accepting community and it’s movement away from social injustices. I have been saying the exact same thing to anyone who will listen! Around the 3rd time I listened to it, it hit me and I FELT IT.

It is possible for something to be superficial and deep at the same time - trite but you still FEEL something. This particular video might not do it for you but SOMETHING out there will. Something that will surprise you. You will find yourself crying at a stupid TV commercial, day dreaming about a silly viral video, or becoming philosophical about a trash reality TV show. We can’t choose the world that surrounds us but we can choose how we look at it, when we allow ourselves to feel, when we open ourselves up to more than cynicism and narcissism. This video did that for me.
