Hmm, the right side of my face looks very feminine, almost child-like. And the left side is a lot stronger, more masculine. (they are switched in the display to match the original photo, obviously. Right side on the left, left side on the right) Who'da thunk it?
Symmetry fun from 2006
cw has it that one side is the face that we show the world and the other is the inner self; I forget which is which, and in any case it does not apply when one has suffered a stroke
I used a snow machine to reconfigure my nose a while back, you can probably tell which side the plastic surgeon tried to fix.
One side of my face is prettier than the other. Which is weird.
why does it seem one side is wider than the other?
Not perfect, but amusing.

Somewhat distorted due to lighting and camera angle. If the camera is not perfectly centered the one side of the face (the side facing the camera) will be larger and as a result the doubling of that side will seem much heavier. Doubling the side away from the camera will seem remarkably slimmer. The key is to look at the ear and see which is more open towards the camera. See Clinton, Rmsfeld , and Richards at the link. Still amazing results. Try this: compare a picture of yourself and one made in a mirror. The mirror picture is the one we each see every morning. The other is how rest of the world sees us.
Yup, just as I suspected. I look really confused and bewildered no matter how you arrange me.
