1. A comedian and former sex addict is trying to start a revolution.

Russell Brand wants it now! Right now! (Revolution, that is.) And he's prepared to take on Britain's scariest interviewer to get it. Lord knows what he'll do next, but it's bound to be interesting. And hilariously sweary.

2. Young people are fired up and taking on their governments, one tweet at a time.

From Egypt to Syria to the Occupy movement, an awesome younger generation are making Twitter one of their weapons of choice to bring about change - having a voice, organising protests, even breaking people out of jail. Facebook's getting a look-in too. (Tinder not so much it seems.)

3. A woman armed with an internet petition (and friends with cool hats) changed the face of money.

Remove women's faces from all of England's banknotes? Not on your nelly you sexist old pigs, said Caroline Criado-Perez who started an online petition to stand up to the powers that be. She quickly got over 35,000 people behind her and the Bank of England backed down. Hurray!

4. Young Americans helped decide an election (except the little guy at the front of the picture - not that young).

If you're under 40 you don't vote, right? Well in 2008 they queued round the block to do it. Barack Obama became President partly thanks to a massive youth turnout - the second biggest in history. People in their 20s and 30s turned the tide of politics in America. BOOM. Take that, oldies.

5. Young Brits could decide the fate of an election. (Ok I cheated, this one hasn't actually happened yet. But it could.)

If you're under 40 you don't vote, right? It's true a lot of us younger Brits don't. But who's to say we couldn't surprise a few people?
