A School Told An 11-Year-Old Boy To Change His Hairstyle Because It Was Associated With "Drug-Taking"

The headteacher of the Hertfordshire school didn't think it was appropriate.

A mother has complained after her son's school linked his hairstyle with "drug-taking".

Joe Head, 11, had tied his hair in a style to imitate the Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Joe's mother, Mandy, told the BBC she found the letter "so ridiculous".

    She added:

"But afterwards I became upset that [the headteacher] could associate drug-taking and my son in the same letter and it became offensive.

"I'm not aware of any rules for hair at the school.

"We will discuss it with them, but they didn't have to add drug-taking into the letter."
