Pro-Independence Scots Are Threatening To Boycott Pretty Much Every Company Going

With this level of boycotting it might might be hard to buy groceries, go to the bank or enjoy a tea cake.

Ever since companies started coming out against Scottish independence there have been calls for boycotts among Yes voters.

This afternoon Jim Sillars, the SNP's former deputy leader, called for a boycott of stores such as John Lewis which have warned about the increased costs of independence, while also suggesting oil firm BP should be nationalised and pledging a "day of reckoning" for banks who support the union in the case of independence.

More and more companies are coming out against independence, in part following a plea by David Cameron. But pretty much every major shop, business or broadcaster has been threatened with a boycott by someone, somewhere, at some point:

1. John Lewis is being threatened with a boycott after it warned prices could rise after independence.

John Lewis. Please don't let me boycott because of Osborne's bluff on the £. You are the best for shopping, but I & others WILL boycott you

call for a #boycott @johnlewisretail in Glasgow on a busy Sat before #indyref #voteyes #fb

2. Yes supporters are ready to boycott Waitrose supermarkets and their free coffee.

.@waitrose I absolutely love Waitrose since you opened in our area, but due to your pre-referendum threat to raise prices I will boycott.

3. Sainsbury's is on the list after the company's former chief executive spoke out against independence.

@Peston Scots will now #boycottSainsburys @Sainsbury #Scotland #indyref #yesvote

4. ASDA supermarkets are definitely for the chop.

Shame on ASDA for interfering in Scottish vote. Boycott Asda on both sides of the border. Damn their impertinence and cheek. What a nerve

@asda Lets all boycott Asda permanently never mind till next week. Another American company, like RBS.

Asda. We do no forgive. We do not forget. Don't expect us. #VoteYes #indyref

Boycott of @asda begins. I look forward to spending my £Scottish with a retailer that values my custom. Join me! #indyref

Some people are threatening to move their shopping from ASDA to Tesco.

@asda Scare mongering = boycott. No thanks ASDA. Hello @Tesco #voteyes #indyref #YesScotland

5. But others are *already* boycotting Tesco after it said it would move its banking division south of the border.

Tesco should be ashamed to scaremonger and interfere in Scottish matters. Boycott Tesco. How dare they try to scare Scottish voters !

6. BP is in line for a boycott.

BP support better together. Boycott BP!! No be gettin any money from me.

7. As is Royal Bank of Scotland.

8. Along with Lloyds.

So RBS and Lloyds are leaving if it's a #Yes vote? I say boycott now, transfer your £ to a democracy friendly bank. #indyref #voteyes

9. Oh and TSB, which used to be part of Lloyds.

Scotland its simple. Pull your money out of RBS, Natwest and TSB and boycott Asda. They will soon change their tune. People power :)

10. Clydesdale bank is in the line of fire.

@sjharte Just been up to Clydesdale to close accounts and mortgage many people doing same

11. As is insurance and investment fund Standard Life.

Good Scottish Nats should boycott Standard Life, they have shown their true colours #voteyes #indyref #fb

12. Convenient DIY superstores are on the boycott list.

B&Q warning of price increases in the event of Independence. Time to BOYCOTT B&Q ....... Please RT

13. Tunnock's tea cakes are never, ever to be eaten after the company came out against independence.

14. The BBC and all who sail in it has to go.

If its a No vote next week, we should boycott the @BBC and Tv License - why should we pay for bias media!? #bbcbias #indyref #voteyes

If Scots boycott the BBC license fee, there wouldn't even be enough lawyers, court sessions, judges and time available to contest each case.

15. Sky News is in the firing line.

Boycott @SkyNewsBreak time me thinks.. Im not watching a broadcaster that tells lies to us without reporting the facts. Pravda .....#indyref

Prompting some people to call on people to switch providers from Sky to Virgin.

"@SkyNews: Scots Face Higher Mobile Charges In UK http://t.co/Cs2MKiYlET" sky is so bias it's unreal. I hope Scotland boycott and get virgin

16. Unfortunately Richard Branson has now come out against independence, meaning Virgin is now also the subject of a boycott.

Looks like I'll be boycotting #Virgin too #indyref http://t.co/ODJDhiLAAr

17. In fact, why not just boycott everything.

BBC, DAILY RECORD, BAXTERS, TUNNOCKS, RBS, LLOYDS, STANDARD LIFE, CB. Boycott t lot of them, frighten me, i'll FRIGHTEN u lot.

So the list of companies to boycott grows every day. JL, B&Q, RBS, ASDA, LLOYDS, STD LIFE, - anymore ? #boycottantiscottish #YesBecause

Retailers backing Westminster-inspired scaremongering: B&Q, M&S, John Lewis, Asda, Timpsons #indyref #boycott

Although even Yes supporters start to wonder whether there's anything left that isn't boycotted.

@YESthatcherDead I can't boycott everyone on protest. Is it just Morrisons left to shop at?
