A Load Of Americans Are Abusing A British Journalist Because They Think He’s A NFL Footballer

Tom Bradby is a highly respected political journalist for ITV. So he can't do anything about your NFL team, America. (NSFW language.)

First things first – the guy on the left is Tom Brady, an American footballer whose team just won the Super Bowl. The one on the right is Tom Bradby, ITV's political editor.

A lot of NFL fans struggle to tell the difference, and spent Super Bowl evening hurling abuse at the British journalist.

The abuse covered the full gamut of the swearing spectrum.

@tombradby You're fucking ass with out that interception you guys are shit go deflate more balls faggot.

@tombradby Your A Fucking Stupid QB Retire Fucking Cunt Your Too Old To Play Football Faggot!

There were quite a lot of personal comments.

How in the hell does @tombradby deserve #SuperBowIXLIX MVP with two interceptions?! AND HES UGLY AF

Many people pestered the British journalist for a new car.

And there were some tweets that were...probably a bit different to Tom Bradby's usual chatter about Westminster politics.

That said, some people can't help but express their adoration for ITV's political frontman.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MOST HANDSOME & TALENTED QUARTER BACK IN NFL HISTORY @tombradby , YOUR'E MY HERO ❤️

Even if you're rooting for the wrong team today, we can all agree that @tombradby is the most beautiful player on the field today

Fellow political journalists began to join in.

great night for you last night @tombradby , another win

Tens of thousands of tweets later, Bradby has taken to Twitter to thank his adoring fans.

Apparently, the consensus is I played really well last night. Thanks to my fans for all their tweets.

He's been reduced to asking Brady's wife, the model Gisele Bündchen, to get the NFL player on Twitter.

But, in the nicest possible way @giseleofficial, is there any chance you can lure your husband onto Twitter so he can cop the abuse himself!

And for the record, I have never deflated any balls.

But there is the possibility of a career change.

It occurs to me I could have an entirely parallel life dealing with Tom Brady's fans on Twitter.

Alternatively, I could come to an agreement; I'll deal with his abuse if he deals with mine.

Because right now, this is what he's having to do.

Go right ahead @MaddiganMatthew you are making my day.
