Alex Salmond ended his second decade-long stint as SNP leader with a party conference speech in which he paid tribute to the @AngrySalmond Twitter account.
In the closing minutes of his speech to the SNP's annual conference in Perth, Salmond paused for a moment and uttered the soon-to-be-immortal words:
"Conference.... Hashtag sexy social democracy."

He was referencing the runaway star of the Scottish independence referendum: @AngrySalmond, the creator of the ever-popular #SexySocialism hashtag.
But now there's a new, more moderate hashtag in town. And people love it:
