Dark Knight Rises Totally Rips Off Rocky 3
All that was missing from Dark Knight Rises was the “Eye of the Tiger” song.
After watching Dark Knight Rises, I had a discussion with my friends and we started to see comparisons between DKR and Rocky 3. This is a break down on how much material was cribbed from Rocky 3 and placed into DKR. Also, Clubber Lang’s haircut and beard looks similar to Bane’s mask. Slight spoilers ahead.
Rocky/Batman is out of shape after years of neglect and is living comfortably. Rocky/Batman is then threatened by Clubber Lang/Bane. Mick/Alfred threatens to leave Rocky/Batman if he goes up against Clubber Lang/Bane because Mick/Alfred knows that Rocky/Batman may not come back from a fight with Clubber Lang/Bane.
Rocky/Batman is defeated by Clubber Lang/Bane. Rocky/Batman is outmatched and is a broken both physically and mentally.
Rocky/Batman recognizes his fear of Clubber Lang/Bane. Once he admits his fear, Rocky/Batman uses it to empower him.
Rocky/Batman trains to get back in shape for his rematch with Clubber Lang/Bane. He is assisted by Apollo/Prisoner.
Rocky/Batman gets his rematch with Clubber Lang/Bane and defeats him with speed instead brawn.
